About the Role

We are seeking two Mid-Level NEC Project Managers with experience delivering construction, infrastructure, civil engineering, or capital projects and a practical understanding of both site operations and project design activities.

You will be responsible for managing projects throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring contractors perform against contractual obligations while supporting design coordination, programme development, and project governance activities. Working alongside site managers, designers, contractors, commercial teams, and client stakeholders, you will drive project delivery while maintaining strong safety, quality, and contractual standards.

The successful candidates will be confident operating within live construction environments, coordinating multiple stakeholders, managing contractor performance, and ensuring that both design and delivery activities remain aligned to programme objectives.

This role requires hands-on project managers who are comfortable balancing site presence with project coordination responsibilities and can work effectively across both delivery and design teams.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the delivery of construction and infrastructure projects from concept and design through to completionActing as the NEC Project Manager and administering projects in accordance with NEC contract requirementsCoordinating design activities to ensure solutions are deliverable, compliant, and aligned with project objectivesMonitoring contractor performance against programme, cost, quality, and safety objectivesManaging site-based delivery activities and ensuring works progress in line with agreed schedulesCoordinating contractors, consultants, design teams, client representatives, and key stakeholders throughout deliveryReviewing contractor programmes, design submissions, technical documentation, and project deliverablesManaging project governance, reporting, risks, issues, actions, and dependenciesSupporting the management of compensation events, change control processes, and contractual obligationsAssisting commercial teams with contract administration and project controls activitiesEnsuring compliance with health and safety legislation, CDM regulations, industry standards, and site proceduresConducting site inspections, progress reviews, and delivery assurance activitiesProducing regular project reports and project updates for senior stakeholdersFacilitating project meetings, design reviews, contractor workshops, and governance forumsManaging stakeholder expectations and maintaining effective communication throughout project deliveryDriving project performance to achieve successful delivery against scope, budget, programme, and quality objectives About You Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering construction, infrastructure, civil engineering, utilities, or major capital projectsExperience administering and managing NEC3 and/or NEC4 contractsPractical understanding of construction site operations, sequencing, and delivery activitiesExperience supporting or coordinating design activities within construction or infrastructure projectsDemonstrable experience managing contractors and subcontractors within live project environmentsExperience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, issues, and change control processesStrong stakeholder management skills across operational, technical, commercial, and client-facing teamsExcellent communication, coordination, and relationship management capabilitiesKnowledge of health and safety legislation, CDM requirements, and construction best practiceStrong planning, organisational, and project governance skillsAbility to interpret technical documentation, design information, project programmes, and delivery reportsProficiency with project management, reporting, and project controls tools Nice to Have

Formal Project Management qualification such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalentNEC Project Manager accreditation or specialist NEC contract trainingExperience working within regulated or safety-critical environmentsKnowledge of compensation event management and contract change mechanismsExperience overseeing multidisciplinary project teamsFamiliarity with infrastructure, utilities, highways, water, defence, or public-sector capital programmesSMSTS, CSCS, or other relevant site-based qualificationsExperience coordinating relationships between design consultants and construction delivery teamsDegree qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced NEC Project Manager who enjoys working across both site delivery and design coordination, understands the realities of a live construction environment, and can successfully manage projects from planning through to delivery while ensuring contractors and stakeholders remain aligned to project objectives.
