We are actively recruiting for a proactive and experienced Credit Control and Billing Manager to join our finance team at our Head Office in Bromsgrove.
As a key member of the team, you will take ownership of the Group’s credit control and billing operations, helping to maximise cash flow, minimise financial risk, and support business growth. Through effective leadership of the sales ledger function and a focus on continuous improvement, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent financial performance and service across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage and develop the credit control and sales ledger team, driving accountability, customer focus and continuous improvementOwn the Group’s end-to-end billing process, ensuring the timely and accurate production of invoices, credit notes and statements for our customersOwn the Group’s credit control strategy and cash collection performance, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debt and achievement of cash targetsEstablish and maintain strong credit policies, procedures and controlsMonitor and manage customer payment performance and aged debt, proactively addressing overdue balances with the team, and bad debt exposurePartner closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure contract and framework compliance to contracted fees and payment termsBalance business growth and customer relationships with effective credit risk managementCommunicate effectively with internal teams and customers, escalating issues as neededProduce and review key credit and cash flow performance reporting, including collections, overdue debt, disputes, credit exposure, bad debt and debtor forecasts, while maintaining strong financial controls and supporting audit requirementsDrive continuous improvement across credit control and billing, identifying automation and system opportunities and supporting acquisitions, integrations and wider business growth Requirements
The ideal candidate must have the following skills and experience:
Proven experience in credit control or credit management, including at least two years in a supervisory or management capacityPrevious experience managing, coaching and developing a credit control teamStrong Excel skills, with confidence working with aged debt reports, reconciliations and large volumes of financial dataExcellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of teams across the groupA strong understanding of financial controls and month-end processesThe ability to analyse information, identify risk and turn data into clear recommendationsA proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they become significant debtsA confident, resilient and commercially focused approachProven proficiency using Microsoft WordExperience of using Access or a similar integrated system If this sounds like the opportunity you've been looking for, we'd love to hear from you!
