JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Middle Education Co-Teacher (4th-6th / 7th-9th) REPORTS TO: Upper Elementary Coordinator / Middle School Coordinator POSITION SUMMERY The Co-Teacher is a dynamic instructional professional who supports the academic division while preparing to assume a lead classroom teacher role when a vacancy becomes available. This position combines substitute teaching, instructional support, classroom observation, and division-wide collaboration. The Co-Teacher plays a critical role in maintaining instructional continuity, supporting faculty initiatives, and contributing to a positive and engaging school culture. This role is ideal for educators seeking growth, leadership preparation, and immersion in a high-performing academic environment. QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.

• Teaching certification (preferred).

• Experience in elementary or middle school classrooms preferred.

• Full professional fluency in English, including near-native pronunciation. All instruction is delivered entirely in English.

• Strong classroom management and adaptability skills.

• Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn.

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

• Professional maturity and leadership potential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assume full classroom responsibility when substituting for absent teachers.

• Support instructional delivery across grade levels as assigned.

• Maintain lesson continuity following teacher plans and school curriculum.

• Assist the division in academic and co-curricular events.

• Design and maintain assigned bulletin boards and classroom displays.

• Conduct structured classroom observations as directed by the Division Coordinator to support professional growth.

• Provide academic and classroom support where needed within the division.

• Reinforce school values, expectations, and behavioral standards.

• Maintain flexibility and readiness to transition into a lead teacher position when needed.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT EXPECTATIONS

• Participate actively in faculty meetings and professional development sessions.

• Demonstrate continuous improvement in instructional practices.

• Engage in mentorship opportunities and collaborative planning.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, transitions, and assigned duties.

• Support school-wide initiatives and special events.

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies.
