Moray Childrens Rights Service advocates for children, young people, parents and carersensuring their voices are heard, respected, and central to the support they receive.

This is a meaningful opportunity to join a team dedicated to championing the rights and experiences of young people and their families through informed, rights-based practice.

As a Childrens Rights Participation Worker, you will be instrumental in delivering on The Promisethat Scotlands children will grow up loved, safe, and respectedby embedding advocacy through a rights-based lens into every aspect of your work.

You will actively promote and support the meaningful participation of children, young people, parents, and carers in all matters affecting their lives. Central to this role is helping parents and carers understand their childrens rights and navigate the systems that impact them, empowering families with the knowledge and confidence to engage fully.

Through a rights-based, trauma-informed approach, you will ensure that every voice is heard, respected, and taken seriously. You will support families to influence decisions, advocate effectively, and shape the support they receive in a way that reflects their needs and experiences.

We are offering 1x fixed-term contract for 12 months, working 35 hours per week, and flexibility can be considered based on service delivery.

What you will need to be considered:

A relevant qualification (HNC/SVQ) related to working with children and young people, or equivalent work experienceKnowledge of relevant legislation and policies pertaining to childrens rightsUnderstanding of the care system in Scotland and the issues affecting children, young people, and families with lived experience of care and additional support needsStrong IT and communication skillsFull driving licence and access to your own vehicle (travel is required for visits) What you'll get in return
