The Leechburg Area School District is accepting applications in anticipation of a future Custodian opening. QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have a High School Diploma.
• Some general knowledge of tools and their application.
REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities and Grounds JOB GOAL: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play, and develop. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Lowers the United States flag on each school day at or after 3:30 p.m.
• Sweeps classrooms daily and dusts furniture.
• Cleans corridors.
• Cleans and disinfects all toilets, shower areas and drinking fountains daily.
• Washes all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice each year, and more frequently if necessary.
• Keeps all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
• Cleans all chalkboards daily.
• Makes minor building repairs.
• Reports major repairs needed promptly to the principal or director.
• Reports immediately to the principal or director any damage to school property.
• Assumes responsibility for the closing of the building each school day and for determining, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured, and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off.
• Requisitions general cleaning supplies for area of responsibility.
• Moves furniture or equipment within buildings as required for various activities and as scheduled by the director.
• Comply with district procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste.
• Capable of using a ladder.
• Move between and within various district offices and buildings.
• Carry on conversations in person and to communicate via telephone.
• Follows district recycling procedures.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month year. Salary and work year to be determined by contractual agreement. EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on Evaluation of Classified/ Support Personnel.
