About this role
The Leechburg Area Food Service Department is seeking applicants for a day-to-day of Food Service Worker. This is a part-time, on-site, 10-month position. The employee works 5 hours daily, between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday, on days when students are in attendance during the regular school year. The Food Service Department may schedule additional work and training days on an as-needed basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school degree or GED required
• Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and handling procedures is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays.
REPORTS TO: Food Service Director ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE: This position assists with serving the students and staff attractive and nutritious meals in an efficient and pleasant manner while adhering to state and federal guidelines. RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Get breakfast cart out and ready for breakfast service
• Serve breakfast
• Prep breakfast cart for next day
• Get snack room ready for service (stocked, prepare hot rotation items, prepare specialty drinks and parfaits)
• Help prep lunch- sandwiches, salads, assist with bistro & munchables, assist pizza making
• Start snack bar when lunch service starts
• Clean tables
• Clean & stock snack room for following day
• Prepare and serve food items according to established recipes and portion sizes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafeteria area, including dining tables and serving stations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards during food handling and preparation.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during peak hours.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management.
• Follow all health regulations and safety guidelines while performing duties.
• All other duties as assigned by head cook or Food Service Director
