About this role
River Mill Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher to support elementary-aged students with disabilities through individualized instruction and specialized services. The EC Teacher will collaborate with families, classroom teachers, administrators, and related service providers to ensure students receive the support necessary for academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success. Responsibilities
• Provide specialized instruction aligned with student IEPs.
• Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation.
• Develop, implement, and review IEP goals and accommodations.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff.
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
• Foster a positive, supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• North Carolina EC teaching license.
• Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and evidence-based instructional practices.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
