Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher Assistant – Elementary River Mill Academy | Graham, NC
River Mill Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-focused Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher Assistant to support elementary-aged students with disabilities in academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development. The EC Teacher Assistant will work under the supervision of licensed teachers and administrators to provide instructional and classroom support that promotes student success. Responsibilities Include:
• Assisting the EC teacher and classroom teachers with daily instructional activities.
• Working with individual students and small groups to reinforce skills and learning objectives.
• Supporting the implementation of accommodations, modifications, and interventions as directed by the teacher.
• Assisting with behavior support and classroom management strategies.
• Supervising students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other school activities as assigned.
• Preparing instructional materials and assisting with classroom organization.
• Maintaining confidentiality and supporting a positive learning environment.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree, completion of at least 48 college credit hours, or WorkKeys certification preferred.
• Experience working with children, particularly students with diverse learning needs, preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, families, and support staff.
• Positive attitude and commitment to student success.
