Main duties of the job As a Housekeeper at Thornford Park Hospital, you will be a key part of the housekeeping team, responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents. You will contribute to creating a positive culture by ensuring the cleanliness of all areas, working in close collaboration with the maintenance team to deliver high standards of cleaning services. The role involves cleaning wards, office spaces, bedrooms, and visitor areas, and involves following security standards as defined by the hospital. As part of the team, you will be expected to maintain excellent communication skills and establish strong working relationships with staff, visitors, and service users. You will need to attend mandatory training annually and perform any other tasks deemed appropriate for the post. Previous cleaning experience in a similar environment is required, along with good attention to detail, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.

As a Housekeeper you will be:
Maintaining required security standards of the hospital by following relevant policies and procedures as defined by the Hospital An active member of the team with a range of responsibility over the day-to-day operation Maintaining excellent telephone etiquette and ability to meet and greeting visitors in a professional manner Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all staff, visitors and service users Helping create a positive culture Undertaking any other tasks requested that are appropriate for the post Attending mandatory and statutory training on an annual basis as required by Elysium Healthcare To be successful in this role, you will:

Thornford Park is a 141 bed hospital set within 21 acres of Berkshire countryside, offering a seamless care pathway across medium and low secure services, psychiatric intensive care units (PICUs), and rehabilitation flats. The site supports men and women with complex Mental Health needs, Personality Disorders, Learning Disabilities, and Autism—often with histories of offending or previous placement challenges.
