Job summary We are seeking an organised and motivated Quality Governance Officer to support quality improvement, clinical effectiveness and mortality review processes across Leeds Children's Hospital. The role involves coordinating Learning from Deaths and Child Death Review activities, maintaining governance databases and dashboards, producing reports, and supporting national programmes such as NCEPOD and NICE guidance reviews.
Main duties of the job Working closely with clinical teams, managers and partner organisations, you will help ensure that governance processes are effective, learning is shared, and high standards of patient care are maintained. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative, analytical and communication skills who is looking to develop a career in quality governance within the NHS.

Why you should join our Team Leeds Children’s Hospital covers 27 medical and surgical specialties and is one of the largest specialist children's hospitals in the country. We have over 20 inpatient wards, employ over 800 nurses and last year held over 170,000 outpatient appointments and treated over 25,000 surgical patients both electively/non-electively.

What you will bring to the role The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting quality governance and patient safety across Leeds Children's Hospital. They will coordinate mortality review, Learning from Deaths and Child Death Review processes, maintain governance databases and dashboards, and produce reports and analysis to support quality improvement initiatives.
Working closely with clinicians, managers and external partners, they will support national programmes such as NCEPOD and NICE guidance reviews, organise governance meetings, monitor data quality and compliance, and help ensure that learning from reviews and audits is shared effectively across services. The role requires excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care and governance processes.
