Job summary
Flitwick Surgery has a great opportunity for a dispenser to join our team on a part-time basis for 29 hours per week, working over 4 days. This is a 12 month contract position covering maternity leave.
The hours are:
Monday 8am - 2pm Tuesday 8am - 2pm Thursday 8.30am - 6pm (60 minute unpaid lunchbreak) Friday 8.30am - 6pm (60 minute unpaid lunchbreak)
Main duties of the job
As part of our dispensary team, you will be responsible for:
Processing repeat and acute prescription requests for all practice patients Dispensing & checking prescriptions for qualifying patients Dispensing & checking dosette boxes Assisting with patient enquiries online, over the telephone and in person at the Dispensary window. Handing out dispensed prescriptions, taking prescription charges and completing the reverse of the prescription appropriately.
About us
Flitwick is a busy dispensing practice, run as a partnership and serving a practice population of 14,250 patients. Our dispensary team is able to dispense to approximately 25% of our total population. The clinical team consists of GPs, minor illness nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, practice nurses and HCAs. We are a training practice for GPs and also take part in medical research. We are part of Green Vale Health PCN.
Due to our location in Flitwick, a commuter town in rural Bedfordshire, the practice population is diverse, covering patients of all life stages. We have good links to the A6 and M1.

Qualifications Essential
Applicant must hold a NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in Dispensing Services as a minimum.
