We're looking for an Asset Manager Planning to work with our client Main Roads WA in Northam. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, working 42.5 hours per week, supporting the strategic planning and long-term management of the State Road Network across the Wheatbelt region. Based in Northam, this role will involve travel across the network for site inspections, stakeholder engagement and project development activities, with a Main Roads vehicle provided. We're seeking an experienced infrastructure professional who can think strategically about the future of the road network. You'll be responsible for identifying investment priorities, developing business cases, managing road safety programs and helping shape future infrastructure projects that support regional communities and economic growth. Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this role offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
• Developing business cases and funding submissions to support future road infrastructure projects • Identifying opportunities for network improvement through analysis of road condition, safety and asset performance data • Developing project concepts, high-level work scopes and investment priorities aligned with long-term network objectives • Coordinating regional road safety audit programs and supporting continuous improvement initiatives • Assessing road network performance and recommending solutions to optimise safety, reliability and levels of service • Supporting the development and management of long-term project programs, including future unfunded works initiatives • Working closely with project development, engineering and technical teams to help progress future infrastructure investments • Engaging with local government, community stakeholders, government agencies and industry partners to support planning outcomes • Managing asset planning information, road inventory data and performance reporting to support informed decision-making • Contributing to the ongoing improvement of asset planning and management systems, processes and methodologies What you will bring to the team:
• Degree-qualified Civil Engineer • Experience in road network planning, asset management, project development, civil engineering or infrastructure planning • Demonstrated ability to develop business cases, investment proposals or funding submissions • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret asset, condition and performance data • Experience identifying and prioritising infrastructure investment opportunities • Knowledge of road network planning, road safety programs, asset management principles or transport infrastructure projects • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with local government, community groups and technical teams • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with AS2124 contracts • Experience managing multiple priorities, programs and project development activities • Strong communication and report-writing capabilities • Understanding of project management principles and practices • Current Western Australian C Class Driver's Licence Highly regarded
• Experience working within road authorities, local government or transport infrastructure environments • Knowledge of road safety audit processes and road asset management systems • Experience preparing government funding submissions and strategic infrastructure business cases Interested?
