We're looking for a proactive Finance Officer to deliver timely, accurate financial support to colleagues, stakeholders and customers/suppliers; helping teams understand their numbers, resolve queries, and stay on track.
This role is based at Pemberton House, Sunderland. The ICB offers a hybrid working approach with a requirement of 2 days office working and flexibility to work at home or in an office for the remainder of the week

Main duties of the job
Manage Accounts Receivable activities, including raising sales invoices, allocating receipts, resolving income queries and supporting debt management. Process Accounts Payable transactions, including supplier invoice checking/coding, statement reconciliations and responding to supplier queries. Support cash and treasury management processes through timely posting of bank transactions. Ensure transactions are processed in line with relevant policies, procedures and delegated authorisation limits, maintaining a clear audit trail at all times.

Job description Job responsibilities
Produce and reconcile financial information, ensuring its accurate, relevant and on time. Complete statutory, internal and external reporting (with supporting working papers) including VAT and HMRC. Investigate variances, discrepancies and complex queriesthen drive them to resolution. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, and auditors with tact and confidence. Support month-end close processes and help improve finance procedures and ways of working. Provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to junior colleagues within the team.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
AAT level 3 / NVQ level 4 / Part Qualified Accountant or equivalent.
Desirable
Minimum 5 GCSE's Grade A-C or 5 to 9 including Maths and English or equivalent.
Experience Essential
Good understanding and experience of financial systems and functions. Accounting and finance experience and a good knowledge of accounting legislation and financial procedures. Experience of working autonomously with confidential and sensitive information.
Desirable
Experience of staff management. Experience of large integrated financial systems and dealing with large volumes of data in analysis.
