Main duties of the job
In this role, you will:
Provide exceptional, patient-centered care with warmth and professionalism, including ECGs, dressings, cervical smears, vaccinations, wound management, and chronic disease reviews.
Work as part of our collaborative nursing team, contributing to a positive and inclusive environment where everyones voice is heard.
Support patients with chronic conditions, helping them manage their health with empathy, patience, and expertise.
Engage in health promotion and preventive care, empowering patients to make informed choices about their well-being.
Maintain accurate records and adhere to NMC standards, safeguarding, and infection control protocols to ensure the highest level of safety and care.

Job description Job responsibilities 1. Clinical Care
Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care across a range of duties, including:
Venepuncture, diagnostic tests (e.g., ECGs, cervical cytology), and specimen handling.
Immunisations and vaccinations (adult, child, and travel).
Wound care, dressings, and chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, respiratory conditions, hypertension).
New patient checks, health assessments, and opportunistic screening.
Administer medications and injections safely and effectively, following Patient Group Directions (PGDs) and practice policies.
Provide holistic, patient-centered assessments, offering advice, support, and signposting to promote health and well-being.
2. Team CollaborationWork closely with colleagues in a supportive and cooperative manner, contributing to a positive team dynamic.
Participate in team meetings, training, and development to share knowledge and grow alongside your peers.
Support junior staff where needed, fostering a culture of learning and mutual respect.
3. Compliance and QualityMaintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records in line with NMC guidelines and practice policies.
Ensure compliance with infection control, safeguarding, and health and safety standards.
Contribute to audits, quality improvement initiatives, and the maintenance of disease registers.
4. Patient CommunicationCommunicate clearly, kindly, and effectively with patients, carers, and colleagues, even in complex or sensitive situations.
Promote self-management and healthy lifestyle choices through empathetic education and support.
Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and dignity in all interactions.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
Experience in general practice nursing. Proven ability in chronic disease management. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Desirable
Experience in Respiratory Long-Term Condition Management or travel health.
Qualifications Essential
NMC Registered Nurse with active registration.
Desirable
Nurse Prescriber qualification. Full UK driving license.
