Job summary
Applications are invited from Registered General Nurses with the relevant skills and experience for this post within the busy nursing team at our friendly, progressive and outstanding GP practice. Candidates must be dynamic, enthusiastic and able to use their own initiative.
Previous experience within a primary care setting is essential.
The post-holder will be responsible for the monitoring and management of long-term conditions, health prevention, wound care, cervical screening, contraception, vaccinations and immunisations and travel health. Their work will support the practice team in achieving QOF targets. See JD for further details.
Salary scale: pro rata to £39,017 - £46,982 p.a (pay award pending) plus NHS pension scheme
£41,175 after 2 years' service and £46,982 after 5 years' service
30 hours per week, to be worked as follows:
Monday 8.30am 3.30pm ( hour lunch)
Tuesday8.00am 6.00pm(1 hour lunch)
Wednesday 8.30am 3.30pm( hour lunch)
Friday 8.00am 5.00pm (1 hour lunch)
Post-holders are also required to participate in a Saturday morning clinic rota, 8.30am 12noon, approximately 1:12.

Qualifications Essential
Registered General Nurse with a minimum of 3 years post qualification nursing experience Minimum of 1 years experience of working in a primary care setting Experience of chronic disease management within general practice Confident of own knowledge base, awareness of learning needs and seeks guidance when appropriate Able to critically review and communicate clinical information both to patients and professionals Good IT skills Positive attitude, problem solving approach To have flexibility regarding hours and responsibilities commensurate with a senior role. Knowledge of patient group directions and associated policy. Involvement in health promotion work in practice, either to individual patients or in clinics following agreed guidelines. Ability to support patients to make lifestyle changes. Awareness of clinical governance issues in primary care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to organise and manage own workload, ability to work under pressure and to effectively prioritise and ensure good time management. Evidence of continuing personal and professional development.
Desirable
Degree level education or equivalent Minimum of 3 years experience of working in a primary care setting Post qualification training relevant to areas of practice, including chronic disease management, such as diabetes, respiratory and cardiovascular disease Independent nurse prescriber Practical experience of most/all areas of work identified under key results areas below. Experience in assisting with minor surgery. Practical experience of SystmOne clinical system, including use of templates. Knowledge and practical experience of QOF, including monitoring individual and team performance to achieve targets. Supervision experience. Experience of stock control/treatment room management ARTP accredited in spirometry
