Job summary
The Evelina London Children's Hospital is looking to hire one full-time Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Bladder. This post will join a team of Paediatric Bladder Consultants and Clinical Nurse Specialists providing a seamless and highly responsive Bladder service that supports a wide range of specialist children's services based at the Evelina London Children's Hospital and the wider region.
Main duties of the job
The successful post-holder will be part of a team who work to provide care of Paediatric Bladder patients. The role will include:
Delivering outpatient clinics Delivering day case activity such as Bladder Function Assessments Contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings Supporting the research activity of the department There will be all-day Saturday duties every four weeks
About us
There are currently four Paediatric Bladder consultants based in Evelina Children's Hospital, delivering the specialist bladder service.
The Paediatric Bladder service provides an extensive diagnostic and treatment service for children with bladder problems. The service works together with the renal and urology service and cares for children and young people from across the south east of England and beyond. This includes the investigation and management of treatment resistant urinary incontinence (enuresis), bladder and bowel dysfunction, urinary retention and incontinence and bladder problems due to neurological conditions.

The post holder will, together with colleagues, be responsible for the provision of services to the Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust to include:
Diagnosis and treatment of patients of the trust in such hospitals, health centres, clinics or other premises as required Continuing clinical responsibility for the patients in your charge, allowing for all proper delegation to, and training of, your staff

Person Specification
Professional Qualifications Essential
Full GMC Registration and hold a licence to practise Has completed the MRCPCH exams or equivalent
Clinical Experience Essential
Comprehensive clinical experience in General Paediatrics at ST1 level or above
Desirable
Experience in Paediatric Nephro- Urology and/ or General Paediatrics Post CCT, ST6+ level or 7 years minimum post graduate experience for NP5 salary
Research and Teaching Essential
Understanding of the principles and applications of clinical research Experience of undergraduate teaching and post graduate training
Desirable
Evidence of original research Teaching qualification
Knowledge and Skills Essential
Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team
Management Essential
Evidence of understanding of the role of clinical management
Desirable
Management training or qualification Evidence of leadership in the development of clinical services
