About us
Orchard End Surgery is a friendly, 2 partner GP practice with 2 salaried doctors, caring for around 4,300 patients in the beautiful Weald of Kent. Were proud to be a true community hub - small enough to know our patients well, yet ambitious in the quality of care we provide. Our most recent CQC inspection rated us Good, reflecting our commitment to safe, effective and compassionate healthcare.
What really sets us apart is our team culture. We call ourselves the TOADS, a name with a funny backstory that every new joiner gets to hear, usually over coffee and cake. The name has stuck because it captures who we are: a close knit, supportive group who look out for each other and genuinely enjoy working together.
New colleagues are welcomed and given the time and support they need to settle in. Our comprehensive induction and training programme ensures you feel confident in your role, and ongoing development is always encouraged and facilitated. Daily morning huddles, quarterly staff and clinical meetings, annual appraisals and regular supervision help keep communication open and teamwork strong.
We have regular staff outings, walks, pub meals, quizzes, Christmas parties and events hosted at staff homes. We have several keen bakers, so cakes, biscuits and sweet treats appear far more often than they probably should.
We maintain strong links with our patient community through quarterly PPG meetings and monthly patient feedback, which is shared openly with the whole team.
