Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year
Requirements: 8+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or data solution design, including hands-on delivery of modern generative AI solutions.Applied experience leading generative AI and agentic proof of concepts and moving solutions into production, including tool use, orchestration, autonomous workflows, and multi-agent workflows.Demonstrated experience designing end-to-end enterprise AI architectures and leading AI implementations and programmes for medium to large teams.Experience overseeing programme delivery, including cost, quality, and business outcomes, and providing architectural assurance or acting as a Design Authority.Strong understanding of data management across the data lifecycle, cloud-centric architecture, CI/CD, LLMOps, and modern IT and infrastructure delivery.In-depth knowledge of AI security, responsible AI, and compliance standards; public sector, healthcare, or regulated-industry experience is preferred.Hands-on experience delivering enterprise AI solutions on Azure or AWS, including relevant services such as Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Azure Machine Learning, Amazon Bedrock, or Amazon SageMaker.Expertise in agentic frameworks and orchestration patterns, such as Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, LangGraph, LangChain, or CrewAI, and emerging standards such as the Model Context Protocol.Expertise in RAG and retrieval patterns, vector stores, embedding models, and evaluation and guardrail frameworks for LLM and agentic systems.Cloud-platform architect certification (AWS or Azure); an AI or machine-learning specialism is desirable.Familiarity with modern data and lakehouse ecosystems, such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, or Redshift, is desirable.Strong leadership, programme management, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and provide constructive technical challenge.Ability to translate business objectives into pragmatic, scalable technical solutions and communicate AIs value and limitations credibly. Responsibilities: Design and develop robust, end-to-end AI architectures incorporating generative AI and agentic capabilities, aligned with clients strategic goals.Define AI architectures for cloud-native PaaS and SaaS environments, integrating AI with enterprise data, APIs, and microservices.Oversee the integration of machine learning, generative AI, and agentic systems into enterprise environments, ensuring performance and responsible operation.Provide technical assurance and architectural oversight across programmes, reviewing designs for security, scalability, delivery quality, and consistency.Lead client-facing generative AI and agentic proof of concepts, shaping delivery to demonstrate the value of AI solutions.Drive the implementation and industrialisation of LLM-based and agentic solutions, using patterns such as RAG, orchestration, multi-agent workflows, and tool or function calling.Establish LLMOps, MLOps, and AIOps practices, including evaluation, observability, model routing, cost and latency optimisation, and secure deployment.Develop reusable AI accelerators, patterns, and reference architectures, and promote strong practice across the capability.Establish evaluation, guardrail, and responsible AI practices to manage risks such as hallucination, bias, data leakage, and prompt injection.Ensure AI solutions meet applicable security, privacy, regulatory, and responsible AI standards, particularly in public sector and regulated environments.Advise clients on AI adoption, modernisation, and operating-model strategies for scaling AI responsibly and sustainably.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior client stakeholders to align AI strategy with business objectives and define AI roadmaps.Lead thought leadership and innovation within our AI capability, sharing expertise with clients and wider audiences.Mentor and guide engineers, data scientists, and architects across workstreams, fostering innovation and excellence.
