Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year
Requirements: Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships across delivery teams, leadership and stakeholders, influence decision-making, and manage expectations.Experience in back-end or data engineering across multiple languages, including Python, and commonly used IDEs.Experience developing, scheduling, maintaining, and troubleshooting batch or micro-batch jobs on AWS ETL or Azure ETL services.Experience querying data stored on AWS S3 or through a Lakehouse capability.Experience managing API-level and database connectivity.Experience using source control and DevOps tools such as GitLab.Experience using Terraform or similar cloud-native products to build data and analytics platform capabilities.Experience supporting live services in a standard Service Management environment.Proven experience leading significant delivery areas or multiple workstreams to time, cost, and quality with minimal supervision.Experience leading multiple teams or pods and acting as the primary escalation point for delivery and operational matters.Track record of evaluating and improving delivery processes to increase efficiency, quality, and team capability.Ability to anticipate and mitigate delivery risks and address ambiguity through structured analysis to support delivery continuity and stability.Recognition as a subject matter expert or trusted operational lead, with the ability to connect teams to relevant expertise and resources.Active SC clearance is required for this role.Desirable: Experience automating operational tasks with one or more scripting languages.Desirable: Experience developing data features and transformation procedures on a modern data platform, such as Azure Fabric, AWS Lake Formation, Databricks, or Snowflake.Desirable: Experience configuring logging and alerting, and managing observability of data jobs and pipelines using AWS or Azure services.Desirable: Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle DB, or MySQL.Desirable: Experience working in an agile, iterative engineering environment.Desirable: Experience deploying and managing machine learning models using MLOps services such as Azure Machine Learning, AWS SageMaker, Databricks, or Snowflake.Desirable: Experience applying AI or agentic techniques in the role using GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or equivalent.Desirable: Drive for self-improvement and leadership development, including coaching and mentoring others.Desirable: Pragmatic problem-solving approach and ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders on actions and solutions for major delivery or service challenges.Desirable: Perceptiveness, approachability, cultural sensitivity, and a high degree of emotional intelligence.
