About this role

Salary: £66,000 - 106,000 per year

Requirements: Ideally have a software or systems engineering background to understand and credibly represent and promote best-practice ways of working and tool-supported processes.Experience applying software development best practices, including DevSecOps, Agile, CI/CD, TDD, BDD, XP and Lean.Understanding of cloud and secure development environments, with the ability to architect and improve existing and new bespoke environments.Ability to define and implement service offerings for architected development environments, including tooling, infrastructure and internal services.Good understanding of cloud-enabling technologies and practices, including Kubernetes, containers and GitOps.Experience with some or all of the following applications is a plus: Atlassian Suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence), JFrog Platform (Artifactory/XRay), GitLab, Black Duck and Siemens Polarion.Be a UK national and achieve Security Clearance (SC) without caveats before commencing employment, and maintain it. Current clearance is advantageous. A dual national from a non-ITAR country may be considered if approved by the MOD.To be eligible for full SC, generally have resided in the UK for the last five years. In some circumstances, at least three years of UK residence during the last five years may be accepted, subject to additional overseas checks. Responsibilities: Represent engineering customers and users of the Engineering Environments.Specify needs, validate acceptance criteria and approve completed features.Set the development order for team features and work with the Portfolio Product Owner and other Product Owners to align with overall team objectives.Make important decisions about the direction of the teams solutions.Own the teams Product Backlog, including its content and priorities.Collect feedback from end users and other stakeholders during iteration reviews.Maximise the value of products delivered by the development and deployment team and meet internal customer needs.Act as the main interface between the development team, the Portfolio Product Owner and end users.Serve as the Technical Authority and Architect for the assigned area.
