About this role

The Pride Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Art Teacher to join our welcoming school community. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of children with additional needs, delivering tailored lessons that support and inspire every child to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, creative and differentiated Art lessons that meet the diverse academic, social and emotional needs of all students.Create a safe, nurturing and well-structured classroom environment that encourages self-expression, confidence and positive engagement.Use assessment to monitor progress, set personalised targets and support students in developing their artistic skills and creativity.Contribute to the development of a broad, balanced and inclusive Art curriculum, including enrichment opportunities where appropriate.Work collaboratively with colleagues, pastoral teams and external professionals to support students’ wellbeing and overall development.

Key Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a qualification in Art or a related subject.Experience teaching Art, ideally within an SEMH, special school or alternative provision setting.Strong understanding of SEMH needs and the ability to manage behaviour using supportive and restorative approaches.Ability to plan and deliver creative, adaptive lessons that engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
