Main duties of the job Main Duties
Clinical
Prepare clinic rooms, equipment and stock before lists, and restore them afterwards
Record patient observations (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate) and escalate concerns.
Perform venepuncture and 12 lead ECGs, and label, package and send specimens correctly
Carry out height, weight, BMI and urinalysis
Chaperone patients and support clinicians during examinations and minor procedures
Carry out dressings and simple wound care under delegation
Support patients through their appointment with dignity, explaining what will happen and checking understanding
Follow infection prevention and control standards at all times
Operational
Work flexibly across specialities and sites, adapting quickly to each host trust's local policies and systems
Keep accurate patient records on Medinet and host trust systems
Help keep lists running to time, flagging delays or issues to the clinical lead
Support patient flow, including check in and discharge, alongside admin colleagues
Report incidents and near misses promptly
Professional
Complete mandatory and specialty training and maintain an up to date competency record
Represent Medinet professionally when working at NHS host sites
Support the induction of new HCA colleagues

Salary: £30,285 per annum
Quarterly bonus of 1.25% of annual salary

Job description Job responsibilities Your Day in the Life of a Healthcare Assistant:
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (including travel time), shifts generally 07:00 to 18:00 / 5 out of 7 days, Monday to Sunday rota
Department: Clinical Operations: Medinet Clinical Services and Medinet Community
As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will join a small travelling team supporting our clinicians across a wide range of specialities. Most of your week will be spent in NHS outpatient departments supporting our insourcing lists.
When insourcing activity is lower, you will support Medinet Community clinics across the region.
This is a mobile role across the West Midlands. You will work in different hospitals, with different teams and different specialities, so you will need to be confident walking into a new environment and getting up to speed quickly.

Person specification and requirements Essential Qualifications - Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support, NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent. Care Certificate Experience - at least 12 months as an HCA in an acute hospital or outpatient setting, across more than one speciality Clinical skills from day one: observations and NEWS2 escalation, chaperoning, specimen handling, infection prevention and control Skills - adapts quickly to new sites and teams, clear and calm communicator, confident using clinical IT systems, reliable and punctual Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle insured for business use Able to work weekends as part of a 7 day rota Enhanced DBS (adults and children), occupational health clearance and right to work in the UK
Desirable
Desirable Phlebotomy or ECG certificate. Insourcing, bank or agency work across multiple sites Experience in theatres, ophthalmology, endoscopy, dermatology or MSK, or in community clinics Cannulation, wound care, point of care testing or visual acuity testing Experience supporting or inducting new colleagues
