About this role
We are seeking a friendly and customer-focused Retail Assistant to join our team at our store in Leeming, United Kingdom.
In this permanent position, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service whilst maintaining our store to the highest standards. The successful candidate will be organised, efficient, and committed to creating a welcoming shopping experience for all our customers.
What you’ll do:
Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering enquiries, and assisting with product selectionOperate the till and payment systems accurately, handling cash and card transactions with precisionStock shelves and displays, ensuring products are arranged neatly, clearly priced, and rotated according to stock rotation proceduresMaintain store cleanliness and organisation, including tidying fitting rooms, aisles, and storage areasSupport colleagues during busy periods and assist with visual merchandising to enhance product presentationMonitor stock levels and report shortages to managementHandle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues where necessary •Comply with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times •Contribute to achieving sales targets through suggestive selling and product knowledge Proven customer service experience in a retail or similar environmentProficiency with till systems and Point of Sale (POS) technologyStrong communication and people skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a teamExcellent organisational and time-keeping abilitiesAttention to detail and accuracy in handling transactionsPhysical capability to stand for extended periods and lift stock itemsFlexibility to work varied shift patterns, including weekends and bank holidaysDesirable: Previous retail experience and product knowledgeDesirable: Problem-solving abilities and initiative in identifying customer needs Additional Benefits: Free meals and on-site parking Access to our Employee Benefits App – online GP access, Employee Assistance Programme, and hundreds of discounts (including your weekly shop!)
