Engineer Co-Op POSITION PURPOSE Bayer HealthCare is currently seeking college or graduate students for an Engineering Co-op at the Indianola, PA location. As a member of the Systems Engineering team, you will work closely with technical teams across various programs and projects to define requirements and solve problems throughout device development. The successful candidate will support both existing products through lifecycle engineering efforts and new products in various stages of development. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in medical device development, systems engineering, and cross-functional collaboration. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of this role are to: Support systems engineering activities throughout various phases of product development; Work collaboratively with technical teams to address challenges that arise during product development and engineer solutions to meet project deadlines; Assist with requirements development, review, and management activities; Support lifecycle engineering efforts for existing products and new product development programs; Work in both office and laboratory environments to develop practical solutions to engineering challenges; Apply a hands-on approach to problem-solving and product development activities; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful project execution and product delivery. WHO YOU ARE Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: Required: Ability to work 40 hours per week; Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or graduate degree program in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; Completion of sophomore year or higher; Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Preferred: Laboratory experience; Coursework in medical device development; Coursework in regulatory affairs related to medical devices; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to work effectively in a team environment; Strong written and verbal communication skills. Employees can expect to be paid an hourly rate of approximately between $24.00 to $45.50. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits may include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. (if relevant).
