Staff Engineer Staff Engineer for St. Louis, MO to collect, process, transform, and analyze agronomic & geospatial data; designing & implementing data processing pipelines for mobile, web, and third-party integrations; designing & implementing highly scalable data-intensive processing software systems and microservice-based services; support design & code review process; mentor & train junior engineers. Requires Bachelor’s in C.S., I.T. or closely-related field & 3 yrs experience in an agronomic, agriscience and/or crop science environment using MRMS & AHPS to produce daily precipitation data for business-to-business workflows; using PRISM, GHCN & ERA5 to review historical weather information and analyze regional temperature data for business-to-consumer workflows; designing & implementing REST and GraphQL APIs using Java, Clojure and Scala for deployment on Azure and AWS; designing & implementing data-intensive processing software systems for agronomic and geospatial data using Python and GCP BigQuery; analyzing planting, soil sampling & harvest data to prepare in-season insights to third-party customers; and developing GitHub CoPilot AI skills & agents to perform operational maintenance & migration of Java, Clojure and Scala upgrades. Telecommuting permitted from home office location anywhere in U.S. Up to 25% U.S. and int’l travel req’d. Salary Range: Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $190,000.00 to $225,000.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
