SALARY: £19.14 per Hour plus £3.83 per Hour Leadership Allowance + Benefits
LOCATION: Runcorn, Cheshire, North West England
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 to 14:00 Friday (30-minute unpaid lunch), 37.5 hours per week
JOB OVERVIEW
This is an excellent opportunity for a Production Supervisor to lead a purpose-driven recycling operation focused on safe, efficient and sustainable manufacturing.
In this hands-on leadership role the Production Supervisor will manage Shift Team Leaders, strengthen operational performance and support the Production Manager across safety, quality, productivity, cost and environmental priorities.
Working closely with Engineering and Maintenance, the Production Supervisor will drive continuous improvement, equipment reliability, team capability and data-led performance.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Production Supervisor include:
Safety and Compliance: Lead a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirementsProduction Performance: Manage Shift Team Leaders to deliver throughput, yield, quality, OEE and cost targetsContinuous Improvement: Drive Lean, TPM, Root Cause Analysis and data-led improvement activityPeople Development: Coach and develop teams through performance management, succession planning and employee engagementQuality and Standards: Ensure products meet customer, quality and regulatory requirements while promoting SOPs and best practiceEngineering and Maintenance: Work with Engineering and Maintenance to maximise equipment reliability, asset performance and plant availabilityReporting and Leadership: Lead operational reporting, performance reviews and improvement actions, deputising for the Production Manager when requiredSustainability and Efficiency: Support waste reduction, energy efficiency and resource optimisation while monitoring environmental performance
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
Previous leadership experience within manufacturing, recycling or a process industryProven people management and team development skillsStrong HSE knowledge and an operational excellence mindsetExperience improving KPIs through Lean, TPM and continuous improvement methodologiesStrong analytical, communication, coaching and problem-solving skills DESIRABLE
Experience within plastics, polymer processing or recyclingLean, Six Sigma, IOSH or NEBOSH qualification, or equivalentKnowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, TPM and Asset Care
