Job Title: Concrete LaborerJob DescriptionThe Concrete Laborer works in the Wet Cast department, performing repetitive but varied tasks involved in preparing, pouring, and finishing concrete forms. You start the day by removing set forms from the previous day using a crane, breaking apart molds with hand and power tools, cleaning and reassembling them, placing rebar cages, and supporting the concrete pouring process using overhead equipment. This is a physically demanding role that involves continuous movement between multiple forms and regular lifting.Responsibilities
• Remove set concrete forms from the previous day using a crane in the Wet Cast department. • Break apart molds using hand tools and power tools, performing physically demanding tasks safely and efficiently. • Clean molds by shoveling and knocking off excess concrete to ensure they are ready for reuse. • Bolt molds back together and prepare them for the next concrete pour according to established procedures. • Place rebar cages into prepared forms to meet structural and production requirements. • Support the pouring of concrete into forms using an overhead machine, ensuring proper fill and placement. • Move continuously between up to 30 forms, maintaining productivity and attention to detail throughout the shift. • Lift and carry materials and tools weighing up to 4050+ pounds on a regular basis. • Use tape measures and other basic tools to verify dimensions and ensure accuracy in form setting and concrete placement. • Follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment at all times. • Work effectively in a general labor capacity, assisting with concrete finishing, form setting, and form pouring as needed. • Maintain a clean and organized work area in a dusty, heavy industrial environment. Essential Skills
• Ability to consistently lift 50+ pounds in a physically demanding environment. • Experience in general labor, preferably in construction or heavy industrial manufacturing. • Concrete experience, including exposure to concrete production, concrete finishing, or concrete construction. • Ability to work with rebar and rebar cages in form preparation. • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. • Comfort with heavy lifting and repetitive physical tasks. • Ability to read and use a tape measure to verify measurements and dimensions. • Reliability and willingness to work in a tough, physical role with continuous movement. • Strong focus on safety and adherence to PPE and workplace safety protocols. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Previous construction or heavy industrial manufacturing experience preferred. • Experience with form setting and form pouring in a concrete environment. • Knowledge in general concrete work, including production or finishing. • Ability to adapt to repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and efficiency. • Willingness to cross-train in other departments to gain additional skills. • Interest in long-term career growth, including potential advancement into leadership roles. The role is tough and highly physical, involving frequent heavy lifting and continuous movement throughout the shift. Safety is a major focus, and you must consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel-toed shoes, safety vest, earplugs, and hard hat. The environment is production-oriented, with multiple concrete forms being prepared and poured at once, and you will regularly use cranes, overhead pouring equipment, hand tools, and power tools to complete your tasks. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
