We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable and motivated Facilities Service Assistants to join our Community Hospital team. This is an important role that helps create a safe, clean and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and colleagues across our hospitals.
As a Facilities Service Assistant, you will work as part of a dedicated facilities team delivering a range of services including cleaning, housekeeping, catering and porter support duties. Your work will directly contribute to high standards of patient care, infection prevention and the overall patient experience.
Main duties of the job
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout wards, patient rooms, offices, kitchens and communal areas.Supporting ward teams with housekeeping duties.Assisting with the preparation, regeneration and serving of patient meals and beverages.Handling linen, waste management and stock replenishment.Undertaking environmental and cleaning audits and completing monitoring records.Operating cleaning equipment safely and effectively.Supporting infection prevention and control measures.Working collaboratively with ward teams, patients, visitors and colleagues.Responding flexibly to service needs across hospital sites when required.Join Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and help us provide safe, high-quality care in our Community Hospitals.

Qualifications Essential
Range of work procedures and practices, base level of theoretical knowledge plus experience relevant to the post Facilities in house training program to be completed within agreed time scale
Desirable
NVQ or equivalent relevant to the role Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate City and Guilds or equivalent (for Catering duties only)
Experience Essential
Experience of either catering / cleaning / portering in a commercial environment
