About this role
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and creative Teacher of Design Technology to join our Art, Design and Technology team. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with a strong background in Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering or a related discipline. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering our Design Technology provision, including the OCR Cambridge National in Engineering Design (J822) at Key Stage 4.
We are particularly interested in appointing someone who is confident in practical and technical design and who can inspire pupils through high-quality teaching, strong subject knowledge and engaging project work.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience or knowledge of:
Design Technology and/or Product DesignEngineering design processesCAD/CAMTechnical and engineering drawingModelling and prototypingWorkshop-based practical skillsThe use of materials and manufacturing processesSupporting pupils to develop, refine and evaluate design ideas
The ability to contribute to our Art & Design provision, including 3D Design, would be a significant advantage.
Previous experience of teaching the OCR Cambridge National in Engineering Design would be desirable but is not essential. We are happy to provide appropriate training and support for a strong Design Technology or Product Design teacher who has the skills and enthusiasm to develop in this area.
