Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic staff member to join our housekeeping Supervisor team working the following shift:
Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00
You will be working alongside another Supervisor to ensure all housekeepers are carrying out their daily duties.
Main duties of the job
The supervisor role will include the following:
Ensuring PDRs are completed
Ensuring return to works are completed
Ensuring all mandatory training is kept up to date
Ensuring the washing of mops is completed throughout the shift
Booking staff annual leave
Answering any queries from other wards/areas

Key Duties
To provide daily supervision of staff ensuring daily contact with all staff on duty. To deal with and rectify minor problems which arise on a daily basis. To have an understanding and carry out the governments guidelines on the National Standards of cleanliness. To take a pro-active approach to cleaning, constantly striving to improve the quality of service provided. To carry out staff appraisals. To carry out staff induction. To provide comprehensive training to all new members of staff. To have an understanding of infection control and to ensure compliance within the Department. To maintain confidentiality at all times. To liaise with staff within the hospital on day-to-day issues relating to the housekeeping service. To deal with complaints in the first instance. To raise with the Housekeeping Services Manager, any issues which may affect the quality of housekeeping service.
General Duties
To organise and plan work rotas ensuring maximum efficiency of staff. To allocate keys and ensure key log sheet is signed, and that returned keys are logged in. To allocate supplies of cleaning chemicals and consumables. To be responsive to telephone requests ensuring a prompt service at all times. To authorise annual leave ensuring minimal disruption to the service. To carry out staff return to work interviews following a period of sickness absence and bring to the attention to the Assistant Housekeeping Services Manager any problems. To attend departmental meetings. To re-train staff annually or more frequently if required. To provide a mop washing service, in line with the departmental procedures. To ensure that all staff comply with the uniform policy. To cover areas of work in the event of staffing shortages.

Qualifications Essential
Previous supervisor experience Basic Education Basic IT knowledge Experience in use of floor scrubbers
Desirable
Cleaning experience in a healthcare or similar environment. COSHH knowledge Health and Safety knowledge
