This is an exciting opportunity to become our Theranostic Lead Technologist, taking the lead in a growing and innovative Molecular Radiotherapy (MRT) service. Working at the forefront of theranostics and molecular imaging, you'll coordinate and deliver advanced radionuclide therapies, help shape service development, and support patients throughout their treatment journey. From planning therapies and managing patient pathways to working with cutting-edge PET/CT and SPECT/CT technology, you'll play a pivotal role in providing life-changing care while helping drive the future of molecular medicine at The London Clinic.
A little about the role
As our Theranostic Lead Technologist, we will look to you to be the operational lead for our Molecular Radiotherapy service. Working closely with our Molecular Imaging & Therapies Service Manager, consultant clinicians, physicists and multidisciplinary colleagues, you'll help coordinate and deliver a comprehensive range of radionuclide therapies including Lu-177 PSMA, PRRT, I-131, Ra-223, Re-188 and SIRT treatments.
No two days are quite the same. One day you may be overseeing therapy planning, coordinating admissions and providing radiation safety advice to patients and carers. The next, you'll be undertaking PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine investigations, supporting service improvements, participating in research activities, or mentoring colleagues within the department.
What you'll be doing
* Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the Molecular Radiotherapy (MRT) service* Deliver radionuclide therapies including Lu-177 PSMA, DOTATATE/PRRT, I-131, Ra-223, Re-188 and SIRT treatments * Undertake routine and complex PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine investigations * Manage patient pathways, therapy scheduling and treatment coordination * Prepare radiopharmaceuticals and safely administer radioactive substances to patients * Perform venepuncture and cannulation in accordance with departmental protocols * Provide radiation safety advice and support to patients, carers and clinical colleagues * Ensure compliance with departmental procedures, quality standards and national legislation including IR(ME)R 2017 and IRR17
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Molecular Imaging professional who is passionate about innovation, patient care and the future of theranostics.
Essential criteria
* BSc in Nuclear Medicine or UK recognised equivalent qualification * Minimum of three years' post-qualification experience within Molecular Imaging * Demonstrable experience in radionuclide therapy administration and patient pathway management * Experience delivering a range of radionuclide therapies including therapies such as Lu-177, I-131 or Ra-223 * Strong experience in PET/CT and SPECT/CT imaging * Working knowledge of IR(ME)R 2017, IRR17, ARSAC and relevant Nuclear Medicine legislation and guidance * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Evidence of continued professional development * Passion for delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to service innovation
Desirable criteria
* Knowledge of oncology pathways and theranostics developments * Master's level study or advanced professional development relevant to the role * Experience using RIS, PACS and MIM systems
