QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DP-03 (GS-9/11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: professional MECHANICAL ENGINEER, performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Developing and processing System Safety Risk Assessments (SSRA) for risk acceptance, which include recommendations for economical and efficient engineering mitigations. Developing detailed technical safety analyses for highly complex systems to include considerations for hardware failures, software faults, and human factors behaviors. 2) Developing tailored system safety programs based on customer requirements and Navy, DOW and other government agency policies. Managing and directing safety program as the technical authority to ensure progress toward requirement completion within budget and schedule constraints. Developing clear and thoughtful contractual language for obligating safety program tasking and deliverables as required to contractor partners. 3) Serving as a system safety team leader, coordinating with internal, external, and government engineering disciplines to document and resolve system safety hazards and ensure safety-minded design features are considered during both design and mitigation program phases. Acting as chair for System Safety Working Group (SSWG) discussions to facilitate/resolve identified hazards. 4) Serving as a technical consultant and expert for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, the Laser Safety Review Board and the Weapon System Explosive Safety Review Board for cognizant systems assigned. Provides review of Engineering Change Proposals, Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization, evaluates Flight Clearances and other programmatic products and functions to ensure hazards are identified, communicated and appropriate hazard controls are in place. 5) Preparing detailed cost estimates for use in obtaining project funding. Preparing correspondence, technical reports, briefing material and presentations, fact sheets, status reports and schedules as required to complete project assignments.
