Job SummaryYou will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the MODEL BASED ENG & ANALYSIS DIVISION (MXM), RAPID MISSION INTEGRATION & INTEROPERABILITY DEPARTMENT (MX), MISSION ENGINEERING BRANCH (MXMM) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.
QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing programmatic leadership in Information Technology (IT) processes, interfaces, and network data through application of network modeling and engineering principles in support of IT network requirements development, architecture, allocation, design, analysis, verification or validation activities for an organization. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date). The selectee's inability to successfully pass; or refusal to conduct the test may result in: 1) the tentative or final job offer being withdrawn during the recruitment process; or 2) subsequently being removed from Federal service for failure to meet a condition of employment. You may be required to sign a "Drug Test Statement of Understanding" if you are selected for this position.
Major DutiesYou will serve as the Mission Engineering Lead IT Architect serves as the primary Information Technology specialist (Networks) within the Model Based Engineering and Analysis Division.You will provide programmatic leadership in the processes, interfaces, and specific network data through the formalized application of network engineering principles for the division and across departments.You will support network requirements development, architecture, requirements allocation, design, analysis, verification and validation activities, applying network modeling and engineering best practices throughout various program initiatives.You will evaluate network engineering data and network tools to determine the best tool set for implementation of program network objectives while considering integration with larger Navy Enterprise standardization initiatives.You will provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) leadership, mentorship, and training to the information technology and engineering teams.You will provide technical expertise in developing, maintaining, executing, improving, and auditing all networking efforts.
