Job SummaryYou will serve as an ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the Rapid Mission Integration & Interoperability Department (MX), Maneuver, Surveillance & Engagement Division (MXP), Integrated Counter Unmanned Branch (MXPM) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15.
QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist researching and analyzing counter unmanned systems requirements to develop and execute system engineering practices and ensuring proper technical rigor for the sustainment and readiness of program operations. Major DutiesYou will serve as the Chief Engineer for Counter Unmanned Systems (CUxS) in the Maneuver, Surveillance and Engagement Division.You will ensure technical activities related to the CUxS capability are conducted with sound engineering practices and with proper controls and management.You will serve as the technical expert for CUxS and will be responsible for implementation of systems engineering practices to ensure proper technical rigor.You will monitor the health of CUxS technical programs in the division; conduct regular reviews to ensure progress is aligned with adequate system engineering practices.You will ensure NSWC Crane and Special Warfare Expeditionary Systems Department engineering policies, instructions, and agreements are consistently implemented within the CUxS programs.You will formulate and communicate the CUxS capability in the Division to meet NSWC Crane and Special Warfare and Expeditionary Systems Department strategies represents the Division in external technical activities.You will ensure that solutions to complex technical or programmatic issues are identified.
