Help deliver digital change that makes a difference to the NHS

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Project Lead to join our NHS PeoplePortal Programme team and play a key role in supporting Kent & Medway NHS organisations as they prepare for early adoption and implementation of this new system.

Working closely with the Programme Director - K&M NHS PeoplePortal Programme, you'll be at the heart of delivery -- coordinating activity across multiple NHS organisations and bringing together project, technical, data, communications, training and user engagement activity to make sure organisations are ready for a successful go-live.

This post is fixed term/secondment for 18 months from the start date. If you are interested in applying for secondment, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

What will you do?

You'll be a hands-on delivery lead, supporting organisations through the full implementation journey, including:

Coordinating project plans, milestones, actions, risks, issues and dependencies across multiple NHS organisations. Supporting system and integration testing, coordinating activity, capturing results and working with technical teams to resolve issues. Supporting data migration and reconciliation Identify emerging risks and issues, escalating where necessary and sharing learning across the programme. Deputise for the Programme Director when required.

About you

You'll be an experienced project professional who enjoys working in a complex, fast-moving environment and can bring people together to get things done.

You'll have:

Strong project coordination and delivery experience. Experience of using NHS ESR or Oracle Fusion is essential. Experience of digital system implementation, transformation or organisational change. Experience of testing and/or data migration in a technology implementation environment. Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills. The confidence to work across organisational boundaries, influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities. A proactive, collaborative approach and a strong focus on delivery. Experience of working within the NHS, particularly across multiple organisations or regional programmes, would be highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme and Project Coordination

Support the Programme Director with the planning, coordination and delivery of NHS PeoplePortal implementation activity across K&M NHS organisations.

Contribute to programme RAID logs, action logs, decision logs and benefits realisation activity.

Identify risks, issues, dependencies and opportunities at organisation level, ensuring these are appropriately managed, escalated and shared across the programme.

Coordinate actions arising from project and programme meetings and follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely completion.

Support organisations to understand programme requirements, implementation milestones and their responsibilities throughout the rollout.

Attend organisation-level check-in meetings, programme meetings and project lead groups as required.

Facilitate effective communication and coordination between NHS organisations, the regional programme team, technical teams, suppliers and other delivery partners.

Support the Programme Director with programme reporting, governance documentation, papers and presentations.

Deputise for the Programme Director at relevant meetings when required.

Organise and support the K&M PeoplePortal Project Leads Group.

Person Specification

Education and Training Essential

Educated to degree level in a relevant subject of equivalent experience Project and/or Programme management office qualification, PRINCE 2, APM or equivalent experience Evidence of Continued professional development

Desirable

Educated to Masters degree level in a relevant subject of equivalent experience

Knowledge and Skills Essential

Strong project coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong understanding and utilisation of Oracle Fusion or NHS ESR. Good understanding of digital system implementation and the relationship between business processes, users, data and technology. Advanced IT skills in a range of desktop applications e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint Ability to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries and build effective relationships.

Desirable

Knowledge of NHS information governance, data quality and data migration considerations

Experience Essential

Significant experience of project or programme delivery within a complex organisation, preferably within the NHS or another large public sector environment Experience of coordinating multiple workstreams, stakeholders or organisations. Experience of supporting implementation of digital systems, technology-enabled change or business transformation. Experience of undertaking or coordinating system testing, user acceptance testing or system integration testing. Experience of supporting data migration, data quality, reconciliation or data readiness activity. Experience of identifying and managing project risks, issues, dependencies and actions. Experience of working with various stakeholders, including external suppliers, technical teams and business stakeholders.

Desirable

Experience of change management, training needs analysis or organisational readiness assessment. Experience of working with third-party technology suppliers and shared services.
