Job summary

Join our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team and help make a meaningful difference to the experience of our people, patients and communities.We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer to support the delivery of our EDI priorities across Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to initiatives that promote fairness, belonging and inclusion. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow and develop your skills while working within a supportive and forward-thinking team.Working closely with colleagues, staff networks and senior leaders, you will play a key role in the delivery of projects, coordinating engagement activities, analysing workforce data and contributing to initiatives that improve equity, inclusion and compliance with relevant legislation across the organisation.This role is based at Kings Court 2, Worcester, with travel across Herefordshire and Worcestershire with opportunities for hybrid working. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about improving staff experience and wants to build a rewarding career in equality, diversity and inclusion within the NHS.

Main duties of the job

As an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer, you will support the planning, delivery and monitoring of a wide range of EDI programmes and initiatives.

You will contribute to key workforce EDI priorities through staff network coordination, delivery of engagement activities, organisation of meetings and events, monitoring of project plans and maintenance of action trackers. Working with colleagues across the Trust, you will gather, analyse and present information to track progress, identify trends and support informed decision-making.

The role includes preparing reports, presentations and communication materials, supporting Equality Impact Assessment processes, maintaining accurate records as well as providing project and administrative support to the EDI function.

This is a varied role requiring excellent organisation skills, strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area, or equivalent experience. GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

Experience Essential

Experience of supporting projects, programmes or change initiatives. Experience of organising meetings, events, workshops or engagement activities. Experience of producing reports, presentations and other business documentation. Experience of maintaining action plans, logs, databases or monitoring systems. Experience of working with a range of stakeholders, networks and building effective working relationships. Experience of analysing and presenting information in an accessible format. Experience of using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Experience of working independently and managing competing priorities.

Desirable

Knowledge of NHS workforce equality standards and reporting requirements Awareness of current NHS People agenda priorities.

Skiils & Abilities Essential

Ability to gather, analyse and present information clearly. Ability to prepare reports, presentations and briefing papers. Ability to communicate sensitively about equality, diversity and inclusion issues. Strong administrative and organisational skills.
