Instructional Designer

Position Description: Develop instructional materials and products and assist in the technology-based redesign of courses. Assist faculty in learning about, becoming proficient in, and applying instructional technology.

Major/Essential Functions: • Provide administrative support, management, maintenance, and user training for curriculum management systems, instructional technologies, educational software applications, and other third-party systems supporting nursing education. • Analyze business and curricular requirements; gather stakeholder input; develop and maintain documentation; and recommend solutions to support curriculum initiatives, accreditation requirements, and educational projects within the School of Nursing. • Create, maintain, and distribute project documentation, workflow analyses, user guides, and reports related to Nursing Education and Academic Technology initiatives. • Provide training, consultation, and ongoing support to nursing faculty, students, staff, and curriculum application users to promote effective use of educational technologies and systems. • Analyze and improve departmental processes, data management practices, reporting capabilities, and workflow efficiencies to support nursing education operations and continuous quality improvement. • Collaborate with Academic Technology, faculty, staff, and institutional partners to promote innovation, effective communication, and best practices in curriculum management and instructional technology. • Evaluate, implement, and support third-party applications and emerging technologies that align with the School of Nursing's educational goals, strategic priorities, and accreditation standards. • Assist with the development, maintenance, and management of digital communications, including social media and web-based platforms, to support Nursing Education initiatives and student engagement. • Personally, and consistently, demonstrate, display and act in accordance with Texas Tech Health El Paso’s Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution. • Remain current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position. • Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.). • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree plus one year of related experience; or a combination of education and/or related experience to equal 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Microsoft Office products and other Higher Education curriculum applications. • Experience with business analysis reporting tools, such as Microsoft Power BI, is desired. • Experience with SQL queries and reporting is a plus. • Understanding of computer programming and database design. • Experience working directly with end users is a plus. • Experience with Banner/Cognos queries and reporting is a plus. • Specific or specialized technical skills, as appropriate to the area and/or team.
