Senior Technician

Position Description: The Communication Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the communications team, ensuring the effective dissemination of internal and external communications. This role involves supervising communication staff, developing communication strategies, managing media relations, and ensuring the consistency of the organization's messaging.

Major/Essential Functions: • Supervision and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of communication specialists, coordinators, and interns. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment. • Strategic Communication Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans that align with organizational goals. Coordinate with other departments to ensure cohesive communication strategies. • Content Development: Oversee the creation of high-quality content for various channels, including press releases, newsletters, social media, websites, and internal communications. Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines and messaging standards. • Media Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries. Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and journalists. Prepare and distribute press releases and other media materials. • Crisis Communication: Develop and implement crisis communication plans. Serve as a key member of the crisis response team, providing guidance and managing communication during emergencies. • Personally, and consistently, demonstrate, display and act in accordance with Texas Tech Health El Paso’s Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution. • Remain current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position. • Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.). • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: • High school or equivalent and five years experience. • Additional job related education may substitute for required experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications: • Police dispatchers need the ability to remain calm in emergencies. • The dispatcher will need be able to think and act clearly during calls to the police station. • The ability to multitask on the job is also an essential skill. • Police dispatchers need to possess skills using telephone, computer, and radio equipment while communicating effectively with callers and police personnel. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Ability to exercise emotional control. • Ability to learn and efficiently use various computer programs including Microsoft Word, Computer Aided Dispatch, telephone and records systems, and other systems that are or may be adapted for use by the police department is required.

Pay Statement: Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan.
