About this role
Purpose of the role
This role produces content and looks after administration for Ngāti Hine Health Trust's digital and social media channels, and for Ngāti Hine FM. Based at the Pokapu Studio in Kawakawa, the role turns direction from the Communications team and Ngāti Hine FM into finished, ready-to-post content, keeps the external website contract running smoothly, and supports administration of an iwi event calendar.
Key responsibilities:
Website administration
• Act as the day-to-day point of contact for the external website contractor, logging and tracking update requests.
• Keep website content current: pages, service listings and event details.
• Check the website regularly for broken links, outdated content, or technical issues, and records and reports issues.
Content production
• Produce content for online and social media as directed by the Communications team and Ngāti Hine FM, covering the full production process:
• Storyboarding and planning shoots
• Filming
• Interviewing
• Editing
• Preparing visuals (graphics, photos, captions)
• Preparing audio, ready for posting
• Deliver finished content in the formats and timeframes needed for pre-posting and scheduling.
• Work with kaimahi and services across the Trust to source stories and content.
Event calendar management
• Support administration and maintenance of an annual Ngāti Hine iwi/marae event calendar across relevant platforms, keeping listings accurate and up to date.
• Flag scheduling clashes or gaps to the Communications team.
General administration
• Provide general administrative support to the Communications team and Ngāti Hine FM as required.
• Maintain files, records, and content archives in an organised, accessible way.
• Carry out other duties consistent with the role, as reasonably required.
Person specification
Essential
• Experience filming, editing, and producing content for social media and digital platforms.
• Confident using editing software for video, audio, and images.
• Comfortable interviewing people and putting them at ease on camera.
• Good written communication, with an eye for detail.
• Able to plan and manage several jobs at once and meet deadlines without close supervision.
• A full, current driver's licence.
Desirable
• Experience updating or administering a website (e.g. WordPress or similar).
• Experience working with Māori organisations or communities.
• Knowledge of Ngāti Hine and the wider Te Tai Tokerau region.
Other requirements
• Based at the Pokapu Studio, Kawakawa, with travel to other sites and events as needed.
• Some evening and weekend work may be required around events and filming schedules.
• A satisfactory Police vetting check.
