Job SummaryYou will serve as a Contract Specialist CNSSC OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FIELD.
QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Serving as a Contract Specialist managing moderately complex procurement actions with increasing autonomy, from acquisition planning through closeout, under the guidance of a senior specialist or Contracting Officer. 2. Assisting in the development of acquisition plans, solicitation documents, and negotiation objectives for more complex requirements. 3. Performing cost and price analysis on a variety of contractor proposals and supporting lead negotiators in contract discussions. 4. Gaining experience in post-award functions, such as tracking contractor performance, reviewing invoices, and drafting contract modifications for review. 5.Increasingly serving as a point of contact for program offices and contractors on less complex contractual matters. Major DutiesYou will perform pre-award functions for procurements involving complex contracts for supplies and services.You will ensure appropriate funding, certifications, approvals and compliances have been obtained for purchase requestsYou will selects contract types, methods of solicitation and options, to include opportunities for pre-established tiered contracting vehicles in accordance with Category Management principlesYou will resolve and disposition contract audit recommendations in a timely manner, while fully protecting the Government's interest.You will develop cost/pricing data for use in negotiation sessions.You will analyze proposals for conformance with the solicitation.You will serves as point of contact for assigned procurements to include those involving on-site operational contracting support.
