Job summary
We are looking for an experienced Early Years Childcare Practitioner to join the team at the Christie Day Nursery to cover a maternity leave post. We are looking for a an outgoing, committed qualified professional who will be required to work as part of a team providing effective childcare in line with Trust and Nursery policies. The post holder will be required to work across the nursery setting to maintain Ofsted adult to child ratio's caring for all children meeting their individual needs e.g., feeding, changing, emotional support and educational development in line with the Early Years Framework.
Main duties of the job
NVQ level 3 or above, NNEB Cache Level 3 or equivalent qualification the candidate Must have sound knowledge of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
Current training in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Health and Safety. Have Good communication skills, ability to lead and motivate team colleagues, to be organised and manage your time effectively produce written documentation accurately.Thorough knowledge of Ofsted standards and procedures and be able to take part in Ofsted inspections and early year's visits and monitoring.Strong Communication skillsAbility to use own initiative, share ideas and be innovative and work well within a team.To plan quality and interesting activities in line with the EYFS; taking in consideration Children's individual needs and interest.Ability to be aware of the high profile of the setting and to uphold its standards at all times.To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the setting.

Job description Job responsibilities
The nursery aims to support the recruitment and retention of staff within the Trust and as such provides full day care for 54 children aged from 6 months up to 5 years. The post holder will be required to work as part of a team providing effective childcare in line with Trust and Nursery policies. The post holder will be required to care for a group of children on a daily basis meeting their individual needs e.g. Feeding, changing, emotional support and educational development opportunities in line with the Early Foundation Stage Framework.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General
1. Gain knowledge of all Trust and Nursery policies and procedures and ensure they are implemented.2. Provide quality childcare in line with the National Standards for Full Day Care produced by the governing body OFSTED.3. Maintain good relationships with parents and carers to comply with the nurserys ethos of sharing information and building positive relationships.4. Ensure registers records of accidents, medication and any other information required in line with the nurserys policies and procedures are completed accurately and stored in compliance with the nurserys policy relating to confidentiality.5. Have responsibility for equipment used in the nursery and report any repairs to Management.6. To administer First Aid plus medicines as required in line with the Nurserys policies.7. To be aware of the procedures for the safe evacuation in the event of a fire and assist other staff in the evacuation process as required.8. Have knowledge of Health and Safety at work and implement any action required in relation to this.9. Assist in keeping rooms clean and tidy, encouraging children to be involved and care for their environment.10. To assist with food preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.Take overall supervision of your designated work area as required.

1. Ensure all Mandatory training and training specific to the job role e.g. Safeguarding and Paediatric First Aid are current and updated as required to maintain compliance.2. Take part in staff meetings and contribute to the development of the service provided.
