Job Title: Low Voltage Electrical TechnicianJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Low Voltage Electrician to join the team as a technician. In this role, you maintain, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage electrical systems, with a primary focus on fire alarm and security systems in commercial and industrial environments. You also perform installation work for new construction projects, ensuring systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with specifications and industry standards. Responsibilities • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage electrical systems, including fire alarm and security systems in commercial and industrial settings. • Perform access control, network camera, and security system installations, ensuring proper wiring, configuration, and functionality. • Program access control systems, network cameras, and related security equipment to meet project and customer requirements. • Read and interpret blueprints, prints, and specifications to plan and execute installations and repairs accurately. • Use electrical diagnostic tools, meters, and basic mechanical tools to identify issues and perform effective repairs. • Complete installation tasks such as pulling wire, installing conduit, mounting devices, and connecting cables and power supplies. • Conduct troubleshooting on fire alarm systems, security systems, cameras, radios, and access control equipment to resolve operational issues. • Perform both new construction installs and repair work on existing systems, ensuring minimal disruption to customer operations. • Provide field leadership by guiding work in the field, supporting team members, and demonstrating qualities needed to grow into a leadership position. • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, addressing questions, explaining work performed, and providing updates on service status. • Fill out detailed service reports, documenting work performed, material usage, and any follow-up recommendations. • Work safely on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces while adhering to safety procedures and best practices. • Handle physical aspects of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. • Collaborate with project teams and construction personnel to coordinate schedules and ensure timely completion of installations and service calls. • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order and represent the company professionally at customer sites. Essential Skills • Minimum 10 years of experience in access control, network cameras, and security installation. • Minimum 5 years of experience in access control, network cameras, and security programming. • Strong experience with repair of access control, fire alarm, security, cameras, radios, and related low voltage systems. • Ability to read and understand blueprints, prints, and specifications. • Basic troubleshooting skills and solid understanding of electrical tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment. • Basic mechanical skills to support installation and repair work. • Demonstrated field leadership experience and the ability to grow into a leadership position. • Strong customer service skills and clear, professional communication abilities. • Ability to complete detailed service reports and accurately document material usage. • Comfort working on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks. • Capability to work in various environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings and active construction sites. • Experience with electrical wiring, electrical diagnostics, and repair in low voltage applications. • Ability to perform installation work, including pulling wire, installing conduit, and mounting and connecting devices. • Experience working with fire alarm systems and security systems in commercial and industrial environments. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with Honeywell and Hanwha CCTV systems; related experience or certification is preferred. • Honeywell Pro-Watch certification is preferred for work with network cameras and access control systems. • Experience with Honeywell/Resideo security systems is preferred. • Gate system experience is not required but is considered a bonus. • Specific industry training can support a higher pay rate. • Experience working with conduit, cable management, and power tools in construction settings. • Ability to work with low voltage systems; experience with high voltage is accepted but not required. • Familiarity with schematics and cable routing for low voltage installations. • Construction site experience, including coordination with other trades and adherence to site safety protocols. • Candidates with less than 10 years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate the right attitude and perform well in the interview. Work EnvironmentThis role is primarily based in commercial and industrial settings, including active construction environments where you may be exposed to the elements. You work with low voltage electrical systems and, where applicable, high voltage systems, using tools such as meters, power tools, and equipment for pulling wire, installing conduit, and mounting devices. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, generally starting around 07:00 most weeks, with some service calls beginning at 08:00 and certain construction projects starting as early as 06:00 depending on project requirements. You frequently work on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces, and you handle physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs while adhering to site safety standards and appropriate work attire for construction and field environments. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, GA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
