We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Therapies team, supporting a young person in Oxford.

This is an excellent opportunity to deliver highly specialist occupational therapy as part of a multidisciplinary team, helping a young person with autism to develop greater independence, improve emotional regulation and maximise engagement in education and everyday life.

Main duties of the job

The Role

Deliver weekly 40-minute direct occupational therapy sessionsProvide approximately 10 hours of indirect support across the academic yearSet meaningful therapy goals using a sensory integration approach informed by metacognitive, interoception-informed, regulation literacy and client-centred practiceSupport the young person to develop sensory awareness, emotional regulation, self-care, independence and fine motor skillsCoach and support school staff and other key adults to embed therapeutic strategies into daily routinesMonitor progress and adapt programmes to ensure interventions remain effectiveLiaise with parents, education staff and other professionalsMaintain accurate clinical records, attend multidisciplinary meetings and produce an annual review report where required

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

HCPC registration as an Occupational TherapistExperience working with children and young people with autism and additional needsKnowledge of sensory integration principles and neuro-affirming practiceExperience supporting emotional regulation, sensory processing and functional independenceExcellent communication, report writing and multidisciplinary working skills.The ability to coach and empower families, education staff and other professionalsExperience supporting young people within educational settings would be highly desirable.
