Job SummaryYou will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/COMPUTER SCIENTIST/MATHEMATICIAN in the BATTLESPACE DIV, INT BATTLESPACE SIM & TEST DEPT of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DP-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Directing the day-to-day operations and mission execution of complex digital ranges or simulation facilities to support multi-discipline test and evaluation events; 2) Leading the technical baseline software development, modeling, and verification and validation (V&V) activities for real-time synthetic test environments; 3) Formulating strategic modernization plans, technical specifications, and system architecture upgrades for integrated simulation infrastructures; 4) Leading cross-functional engineering teams and coordinating operational requirements with external technical stakeholders and customer organizations; 5) Evaluating complex, multi-spectral environment generation and integrating simulator assets for advanced system-under-test applications. Major DutiesYou will oversee the daily mission planning, execution, and operational reporting of complex digital ranges and advanced simulation facilities to support high-visibility test, evaluation, and training exercises.You will provide technical leadership and governance over simulation baseline software product development, ensuring rigorous verification, validation, and accreditation standards are met across all delivered capabilities.You will spearhead facility modernization and infrastructure improvement initiatives, conducting engineering studies, defining technical specifications, and formulating multi-year technology roadmaps for next-generation synthetic environments.You will serve as the principal technical liaison between facility operations, visiting customer units, cross-organizational program managers, and leadership to capture requirements and align technical assets with operational objectives.You will direct and mentor multi-disciplinary engineering teams, guiding project milestones, evaluating technical performance, and advising senior executives on facility investments and laboratory hardware/software architectures.
