Salary: £56,000 - 85,000 per year
Requirements: Proven experience operating as a Governance Lead, PMO Lead, Programme Governance Manager, or similar role within large-scale transformation programmes.Strong track record of delivering governance and assurance within complex public sector environments.Experience supporting senior governance forums, programme boards, and executive stakeholders.Demonstrable expertise in programme controls, reporting, risk management, and assurance.Ability to bring structure and clarity to complex delivery environments.Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.Experience producing high-quality governance documentation and executive-level reporting.Experience working across multiple major public sector transformation programmes.Knowledge of government delivery frameworks and assurance processes.Familiarity with MSP, PRINCE2, Agile delivery, or equivalent programme and project management methodologies.Experience operating within highly regulated or politically sensitive environments. Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate governance activities across major transformation programmes.Establish and maintain effective governance frameworks, processes, and controls.Support programme boards, steering committees, and executive governance forums.Ensure decision-making processes are clear, documented, and effectively managed.Develop and maintain governance reporting, dashboards, and assurance packs.Monitor programme risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations, ensuring timely visibility and resolution.Provide independent challenge and assurance to programme leadership teams.Drive consistency in programme controls, reporting standards, and governance disciplines.Support audit and assurance activities, ensuring compliance with public sector standards and requirements.Work closely with senior stakeholders to provide confidence in programme health, progress, and delivery readiness. AgileSource Ltd is supporting a major public sector organisation undergoing significant transformation and seeking an experienced Governance Lead to strengthen programme oversight, assurance, and delivery governance across a portfolio of complex change initiatives. This is a 6-month remote contract at £500 per day inside IR35. We are looking for a governance professional who brings calm, control, and credibility to large-scale programmes and can help create the structure, discipline, and transparency needed to support successful outcomes in a complex stakeholder environment.
