About this role

JOB SUMMARY: To prepare Customs documents in a timely and accurate manner, sign Import/Export Declaration for same and to ensure goods are cleared and shipped in an efficient and timely manner. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES : Prepares customs documents for the importation and exportation of goods by sea and air. This includes obtaining invoices to classify goods, assigning tariff numbers to the goods, generating and signing off e-C82 documents to take to Customs House. Prepares customs documents for Ships Stores, In Bond Shops, advertising materials, for goods to and from the private warehouse and for the release of products for Embassies. Prepares Transshipment documents. Communicates with ship and airline agents locally. Interacts with transport companies to ensure containers are cleared/exported in a timely manner. Monitors and reviews Customs & Excise bonds promptly. Ensures that the relevant export declarations (e-C82 Forms) are returned to the Excise Bonded Officer in charge with the relevant "Certificate of Shipment" endorsements. Receives, verifies and queries freight invoices received from shipping agents, and prepares requisitions and payment vouchers for freight charges, terminal handling and local administrative charges. Prepares payment requisitions and vouchers for payment of Customs Duty and Taxes, Airfreight charges, Customs and Plant Quarantine overtime charges, Port Authority PLIPDECO and Airline storage rent. Releases Excise containers for export including interacting with In-house Customs Officer to obtain permission to take containers to the port etc. Signs customs documents (e-C82's). Clears and ships cargo at various ports of entry. Maintains and updates the filing system for export documents. Receives and files original gravity reports. Performs any other related duties of a temporary or permanent nature that may be assigned by the Operations Manager. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: At least five (5) CXC/O' Level passes including Mathematics and English. Certified Customs Clerk License Grade II At least five (5) years experience in Clearance and Exportation of goods. Equivalent combination of education and experience. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant programs. Knowledge of Customs practices and procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Effective time management skills. Knowledge of ACE Customs Programme Working knowledge of local customs, port and trade facilitation platforms, including NAVIS and TTBizLink and other programmes that entwine with the role Deadline: September 8, 2026
