About this role

Job summary

CDD Services provides procurement services and systems to a number of NHS organisations including County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. CDD Services Systems Support Team is responsible for the provision of an effective, efficient and professional procurement system and information service to all stakeholder organisations.

CDD Services is looking for an apprentice to assist the Support Team in a range of duties. The procurement function performs an essential role and this exciting opportunity could offer you a real chance to make a difference to the service and a career start within procurement.

Main duties of the job

Resolution of all helpdesk calls from Cardea end-users and subsequent logging and maintenance of electronic database.

To undertake a variety of system administration duties in relation to the electronic purchase order system which will include user setup, profiles, branch / delivery setup and template maintenance, etc.

To facilitate product returns, credits, invoice queries and carriage charges.

The post holder will be part of a team which provides an effective and efficient purchasing service to CDD Services, CDDFT, TEWVFT & OFT stakeholders including the appropriate sourcing and purchasing of low value goods/services.

Participating in stakeholder user groups to support the achievement of VfM for CDD Services stakeholders.

Works within standard operating procedures/work instructions and relevant Policies and Procedures.

Works closely with all procurement, purchasing and materials management staff within CDD Services.

Job description Job responsibilities

The post holder will report directly to the Systems Manager and will work closely with all procurement, purchasing and materials management staff within CDD Services.

The post holder will support the provision of an effective and efficient procurement system and information service to all CDD Services stakeholders.

The post holder will support the provision of information that supports purchasing best practice to CDD Services, CDDFT, TEWVFT & OFT stakeholders when sourcing goods and services, facilitating quotation exercises, processing requisitions and expediting orders. Liaising directly with suppliers and/or National/Regional Procurement Hubs to progress quotation exercises/mini competitions to achieve both quality and VfM outcomes for the Trust and/or Consortium Organisations.

The post holder will interact with a range of stakeholders across the consortium in performing their function in line Trust standards and industry best practice.

The post holder will learn to understand the stakeholder organisations SFIs and associated polices.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

GCSE Maths and English Grades A*- C or 9 - 4 (or equivalent)

Experience Desirable

Experience of working in an administrative role providing levels of customer service

Special Skills & Knowledge Essential

PC and keyboard skills
