Functional Knowledge (SAP GTS)
• Process understanding in Compliance- and Customs Management (CH + DE incl. Import and Bonded Warehouse)
• Process understanding in Preferential Handling
• Trade Integration Expertise: Strong technical understanding of SAP GTS database architecture, master data objects, and customs documents.
• GTS-Specific Enhancements: Hands-on experience implementing GTS user exits, BAdIs, and custom electronic communications with customs authorities. • Core Module Handshakes: Technical familiarity with how SAP GTS interacts with SAP SD (Sales & Distribution), SAP PP and SAP MM (Materials Management) for legal controls and customs checks. Technical Core & Clean Core Architecture
• Advanced ABAP Skills: Deep proficiency in Object-Oriented ABAP, S/4HANA code optimization, and the Eclipse ABAP Development Tools (ADT) environment. • Modern Programming Frameworks: Hands-on experience with ABAP RAP (RESTful Application Programming model), CDS Views, and building OData services. • Clean Core Tooling: Proven experience migrating legacy code into Clean Core patterns using Developer Extensibility, Key User Extensibility, and SAP BTP. • Cloud Platform Experience: Familiarity with SAP BTP services, runtime instances, and deployment strategies. Key Responsibilities
• GTS Technical Development: Design, build, and support complex enhancements, custom reports, and document layouts within SAP GTS (Compliance, Customs Management, and Risk Management). • Clean Core Enforcement: Enforce the SAP Clean Core approach across all developments, transitioning away from traditional "Z-modifications" to maintain upgrade-stability. • Modern Cloud Extensibility: Leverage SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) for Side-by-Side Extensibility and utilize the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) or Cloud BAdIs for On-Stack Extensibility. • System Integration: Implement secure, high-performance interfaces between SAP S/4HANA, SAP GTS, and third-party customs systems using OData services, SAP Integration Suite, and standard IDocs/RFCs. • Performance Optimization: Optimize database access and heavy processing logic by using SAP HANA CDS Views and AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures). • Code Governance: Conduct thorough code reviews, technical debt assessments, and performance tuning to align with SAP cloud readiness guidelines. • Technical Documentation: Author comprehensive technical specifications, system architecture designs, and unit test protocols.
