Job Title: UD Line Machine OperatorJob DescriptionJoin a leading advanced material provider known for developing technologically advanced fiber reinforcements and prepregs for the aerospace, defense, energy, industrial, and protective markets. As a UD Line Machine Operator, you will be part of the team manufacturing soft armor at our facility in Charlotte, contributing to a legacy of over 60 years of innovation. Responsibilities • Set up and operate all U.D. equipment including creel, chemical mixing, and UD line. • Mix water-based chemicals while following safe work practices. • Visually inspect product as it runs and make adjustments to ensure fabric meets all quality and customer specifications. • Transfer product to the next process using hoists and/or pallet jacks. • Identify and repair machine malfunctions, troubleshoot problems, and engage additional support when needed. • Perform basic preventive maintenance on assigned equipment. • Enter data into the ERP system. Essential Skills • Experience as a Machine Operator, Machine Helper, or Machine Technician. • Ability to perform machine setup and adjustments. • Proficiency in troubleshooting machine issues. • Computer skills for data entry and process management. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with Belt Laminator or Cross Ply machines is a plus. • Understanding of basic preventive maintenance procedures. Work EnvironmentThe UD Line Operator role requires working 12-hour shifts on a 2x2x3 schedule, with openings on the day shift from 7 am to 7 pm. Any night shift employees will train on the day shift for 6-8 weeks. The facility is very clean and climate-controlled, ensuring a comfortable work environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC 28214. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.27 - $22.27/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
