Maintenance Mechanic Job Description

• Perform 100% mechanical maintenance on production equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation. • Work closely with an on-shift electrician to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in a timely manner. • Respond to reactive maintenance and breakdown calls, diagnose root causes, and complete effective repairs. • Conduct preventative maintenance activities to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life. • Maintain and repair conveyors, fans, 100 horsepower blowers, furnaces, ovens, and motors used in glass manufacturing. • Perform pipefitting tasks, including replacing burst or damaged pipes and ensuring proper fit and function. • Carry out MIG and stick welding repairs and fabrication as required to support maintenance and project work. • Operate forklifts and scissor lifts safely to access equipment and move materials as needed for maintenance tasks. • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and equipment documentation to guide repairs and installations. • Support weekend and night shift project work, including equipment upgrades, installations, and improvements. • Document maintenance activities accurately and communicate equipment status and issues to the team. • Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working around hot ovens, heavy equipment, and moving machinery. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED. • At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar environment. • Hands-on experience performing mechanical maintenance and repairs on conveyors, motors, blowers, ovens, and related equipment. • Demonstrated MIG and stick welding experience for maintenance and repair work. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
